Proof Copies Arrived (Celebrate Poetry! Volume 2: 2024)
Today, I received the proof copies of Celebrate Poetry! Volume 2: 2024.
I was on my way to Wright's Drive In, where I meet my daughter every Monday for snacks and sodas after Willow gets out of school. (I am limited to lemon water with a flavor packet while on my keto kick.)
I pulled the first copy out and was mildly surprised to see that I liked the layout. I have been second-guessing my formatting choices since the moment I sent the order to print. If I could change anything, I would convince Atticus to allow the option to print page numbers over a full-page image. Who knows, that may be in a future update. If it is, I am sure I will go in and adjust that setting in this manuscript.
Overall, I liked the book.
Dani was quick to notice and point out the formatting gaffes I need to correct. Hey, she gets it from her momma! But, even so, the sheer speed with which the errors jumped out at her smarted a bit. I was able to recover quickly by giving Schanan a sneak peak at the new book. She was delighted. And that delighted me.
I have mailed off the copies to long-distance contributors, and am in the process of passing out the remaining copies to local contributors.
I am excited to finalize the final edits and make this book available!
I will keep you posted.
